Personally, I don't fall for the pvper/non-pvper divide. It doesn't really exist. It's only a figment of popular hearsay and ideology. The people that egg you on to PvP exclusively desire you to remain mentally supple and emotively maleable so that you remain a useful tool. You're like the early lowerclass members of the IRA before it turned into business or any other early nationalist movement. You thrive on the idea of being an significant actor in a larger story rather than gaining any headway in your standing towards anyone else. While I disapprove of the lack of manufacturing competition, the state of affairs among players with a more balanced outlook is one of greater freedom from 'causes' and useful idiocy. That is not to say that there isn't a segment of players that aren't completely self-enslaved to missions.. but then again they aren't really playing the game so they don't fall on either side of the artificial dualism.
The best thing to do is separate people by empirical divisions: 1)Class 2)Partisan loyalty 3)How well Concord tolerates them 4)relative level of social/creative engagement (mission runners and gate ganker = 0,1 --- group PvErs/irredentist pvp factions/RPers = 9,10). Such divisions neatly bisect and crisscross through all self-styled segments of EVE society.
